“Not a waste of time if we got rid of some useless tinpot liberals”; Shadow Cabinet member attacks Liberal Democrats during Queen’s Speech debate
Recently re-appointed Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Gren_Gnat, attacked the Liberal Democrats today by referring to them as “useless tinpot liberals” on the floor of the house. Defending the recent Vote of No Confidence in the Conservative-Liberal Democrat government, Gren_Gnat said that it was “not a waste of time if we got rid of some useless tinpot liberals, one party down one to go, not too much longer now”. Notably, Labour were close to replacing the Conservative Party in government before a proposed coalition with The People’s Movement and the Democratic Reformist Front collapsed after all parties had approved the deal.
Gren_Gnat, who remained in the Shadow Cabinet - though was replaced as Shadow Secretary of State for Wales - after defending “completely unacceptable” comments that saw SmashBrosGuy2933 sacked in the recent reshuffle. Whilst Gren_Gnat was expected to keep a low profile after the controversy, their recent comments will only add to the speculation that SmashBrosGuy2933’s sacking was “solely for PR reasons”, as written in the Telegraph last week.
A spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats said that the comment was “certainly a unique perspective on removing a government only to essentially restate the same people in charge as a result of Labour’s own failure. I suppose they can believe and say those kinds of things if they want to, it’s their right. However, I don’t think comments like that will help their party foster better relationships with parties like mine in the future”. The Labour Party was approached for comment, and as of yet have not provided one.
